Etimología 1
[editar]Del protoindoeuropeo *teḱs-neh₂ y este del protoindoeuropeo *teḱs-, "trenzar", "carpintería", "carpintero". Cognado del griego antiguo τίκτω y τέκτων (téktōn), del sánscrito तक्षति, del avéstico 𐬙𐬀𐬱𐬀𐬌𐬙𐬌, del latín texō, tēla, tignum y del protogermánico *þahsuz.
