Etimología
[editar]Del inglés medio cupp, del inglés antiguo cuppe, del latín tardío cuppa, probablemente derivado del clásico cupa ('cuba'), del protoindoeuropeo *kuhₓp-, en última instancia de *keuhₓ- ('cóncavo').[1] Compárese copa, el italiano coppa, el occitano copa, el portugués copa, o el francés moderno coupe.
